Introducing Placeholder Images for Empty Add-On Boxes

Ever wished you could display a default image in empty add-on boxes?

With version 4.1.0 of our plugin, you can now do just that! This new feature allows you to upload and display a placeholder image when no add-ons are selected for a product.

It’s a great way to make your shop look more polished and give your customers a better visual experience.

How Does It Work?

You can set the placeholder image at two different levels:

1. Global Level – Applies to all add-on boxes across your site.
2. Product Level – Applies to specific add-on boxes for individual products.

Global Level Placeholder Image

A Global Placeholder Image will be displayed in all add-on boxes across your entire store. This is ideal for shop owners who want a consistent placeholder image for all their products.

Example:
If you’re a shop selling juice or wine bottles, you could set a global placeholder image of a bottle that will appear in all empty add-on boxes throughout the site.

How to Set a Global Placeholder Image:

1. Go to the Custom Product Boxes settings page.
   
2. Locate Global Add-on Placeholder Image (available only in Modern Layout).
   
3. Click on the Upload button, select or upload an image from your media files, and save the changes.

Product Level Placeholder Image

A Product-specific Placeholder Image allows you to set a different placeholder image for each individual product. This is perfect for shops offering a variety of boxes with different add-on options.

Example:
If you’re a sweet shop owner selling boxes of cookies and donuts, you could set a cookie image 🍪 as the placeholder for the Box of Cookies and a donut image 🍩 for the Box of Donuts.

How to Set a Product-Specific Placeholder Image:

1. While editing the specific product, go to the Custom Products Settings accordion tab.
   
2. Find the Custom Add-on Placeholder Image (available only in Modern Layout).
   
3. Click on the Upload button, select or upload an image from your media files, and then publish or update the product.
